Smal sets the pace for Prema in Italian F4 testing at Mugello
Kirill Smal led a Prema one-two in the latest two-day group test for Italian Formula 4 teams at Mugello.
The test began with two sessions on Thursday, with Friday’s running split into four segments.
Jenzer Motorsport’s Santiago Ramos and Iron Lynx’s Leonardo Fornaroli were the early pacesetters on Thursday, and despite track limits not being enforced as they would be on a race weekend, there was a great number of laps that were deleted.

Test at Mugello, 2nd day Fornaroli signs the best time
The clouds that threatened the Mugello circuit in the two days of testing organized by Kateyama, in the end proved harmless, saving the rain for the Formula 4 drivers who took to the track on Thursday and Friday in preparation for the 2021 season which will start in mid May from Le Castellet. At the end of the four rounds scheduled for Friday was Leonardo Fornaroli of Iron Lynx, who in the last lap of the final session stopped the chronometers at a time of 1'47 "271.
Formula 4 test at Red Bull Ring concludes in snowy conditions
Snowfall was the big talking point for ADAC and Italian Formula 4 teams testing at the Red Bull Ring on Tuesday, as track time was slashed.
Rather than a lengthy session in the morning and then another in the afternoon, there was only two hours of running in the middle of the day as teams waited all morning for overnight snow to melt (or to be used to make pitlane snowmen).

The snow had given respite to the Formula 4 single-seaters present in Spielberg for the tests organized by Kateyama, allowing them to take to the track regularly on the first day of Monday, but in the evening the snowflakes started to fall again, covering the Austrian circuit again in the night. Despite the fact that the temperatures then rose, the drivers and teams present were not able to compete in the morning session today, taking to the track only from 13 to 15 for a single session lasting two hours.
